TRAILER magazine

After I had a small conversation with the Swedish trucker magazine TRAILER magazine regarding a small misunderstanding in a world record of the longest Road Train in the world, the conversation was directed to my LEGO models instead. The magazine wanted to make an article of my models. The article is to be found the the magazine no. 5/2005, below you can see the result.

Maintext

Adult LEGO
It is not everybody who remember to stop playing with LEGO after the childhood. Definitely not the 24 year old Dane, Anders Gaasedal. He has always used a lot of time for the LEGO, today he often uses the LEGO for relaxing from the study, and he has raised the building technique to a new higher level. It can be seen that Anders is studying for a Masters of Science in Engineering on the Technical University of Denmark in Lyngby. Besides the interest of LEGO, Anders has always had a interest of heavy duty vehicles, probably because his father has been hauling trucks and coaches for the past 25 years. Look at the shown models, and you will probably need to go to your loft or basement, to find your old LEGO bricks. On the site, www.gaasedal.dk you can find more of Anders' creations.

From above.

This Mercedes Benz 1840 4x2 with a two axle trailer, is made for strawtransport and the original truck can be found by the hauler Gustav Larsen & Son in Sandby, Denmark. The model is in scale 1:13 and the total length of the model is 151 cm.

It is here clear to see how the driver has placed the tarpaulin, to easy and fast be able to secure the load.

It is amasing how detailed it is possible to create models in LEGO, take a notice of the windshield wipers.

The Volvo FH12 500 6x2/4 of Henrik Guldager is the original for this model in scale 1:13. It is mainly created by the new colored LEGO bricks, red and orange, plus 498 (!) pieces of cromiumplated bricks for the rear end of the model. The motifs on the model is made by Anders himself on his PC. The model is also equipped with an aircompressor for lifting the middel axle.

Even the inside of the "Sweet Candy" is just like the original; officepackage, lamps, mirrors, tv-monitors, beds, seats and dashboard. Below the drivers cabin you will find a very detailed engine. Doors and lockers can of course be opened.
