As a result of the article of my Mercedes Benz 1840 strawtransport in Holbęk Amts Venstreblad, I had a
enquiry from Dansk Transport og Logistik who also wanted to make an article of this truck.
The result can be seen below in the article from theyre magazine no. 1/2005.

If you have a hard time understanding the danish article, I have made an english translation below.
It lookes real,The Mercedes truck, but it is actually a model, build by 4000 LEGO pieces.
ONLY THE STRAW IS MISSING
The Model, which lookes extreamly realistic, is made by Anders Gaasedal, 24, who relax from his engineering studies by
creating LEGO models. This one is an exact model in scale 1:13 of the truck his father, Niels Nielsen, is driving everyday by the
hauler Gustav Larsen & Son, Svinninge, which is run by Mariann Friis Larsen after her husband Hans Erik Larsen.
Behind the modelling which was carried out in the summer holiday, lies several days of data collection of drawings and hundreds
of digital photos of the truck of his father the 20 meters long Mercedes Benz 1840 4x2 with a 400 HP V6-engine and 2 axle trailer.
Even the coffee cup in the cabin is included on the model. But that was not the hardest part. To find the correct bricks it was necessary to
search the internet and call the factory in Billund, to find bricks which were outdated years ago, and was not present in the
stock of around 45.000 LEGO bricks in Asnęs. Specially the 14 wheels used for the truck was hard to find, since they were outdated back in the 1980'ies.
In the frame of the truck you will find the propeller shaft, engine, toolbox, and many many more.
Anders Gaasedal which also is a specialist in creating LEGO mobile cranes, is member of a danish LEGO enthusiast association, who share ideas
and experiences on the internet. If you are interested in his models, you will find more on his website, www.gaasedal.dk.
The strawtransporter are not going to be disassebled right now, because Anders has promised Mariann Friis Larsen that she can keep
the model in the office for a while.
Here you can see the model of the strawtransporter, made by approximately 4000 LEGO bricks.
